  • Inner Balance

Yoga has eight limbs, the movement we associate with Yoga is just one. They all combine to teach us liberation from suffering. Not all of us want to, or have the body to perform impossible geometric patterns with our limbs. For those who enjoy a more cerebral approach to dissolving the activity in the mind Inner Balance is a 45min seated practice. On the floor, a cushion, or a firm chair. This class has one requirement, sit with your spine in a vertical alignment without support. The class focuses on two other limbs of Yoga. Pratyahara - withdrawal from senses Training the ability to detach from the senses brings you closer to our true nature. Its the same for everyone, blissful peacefulness and joy are what each of us has beneath the distraction of sensory inputs and thoughts. You do not lose your senses, it's like leaving them in a safe place within reach and automatically returning to them at anytime. Pranayama - Breath control Take a deep breath, hold it for three seconds and let it go with a sigh, you just did pranayama. Why do we do this? breath control has a significant effect on your nervous system, your heart rate, which in turn affect your stress hormone levels. Filling your lungs completely and exhaling fully has a massaging effect on parts of your body no one can reach, not even you. increased O2 levels expulsion of C02 in a more meaningful way than just passively breathing profoundly changes mood, awareness, and cell function. It leaves a tingle in the brain, chest and limbs, an enjoyable awareness of your body lapping up this natural process. Liberation does not appear instantly, no guarantees, it is a practice, like learning piano or completing Suduko for example, the more you practice the better the results. The descriptions of this practice only cover the western physiological view of the mind and body. This is the tip of the iceberg. Beneath is a growing awareness of the Self, and the limitless and liberating connection we have with everyone and everything. But lets start with the practice, and enjoy what it brings.

Sessions are gentle, respectful, and adapted to your comfort. They may help with: Musculoskeletal tension or chronic pain Headaches, jaw tightness, or migraines Stress, fatigue, or sleep disturbance Hormonal or emotional imbalance It’s a quiet, powerful therapy that supports your whole system, not just the part that hurts. Healing is personal, and your choice to explore acupuncture is yours alone.

  • Thai Bodywork (Thai Yoga Massage)

Thai Bodywork is a deeply therapeutic form of traditional Thai massage—designed to address the kind of real physical discomfort most people associate with physio, osteopathy, or chiropractic work. It’s clothed, mat-based, and grounded in centuries of practical, effective healing techniques. This is not a spa massage. It’s structured, intentional bodywork: mobilising joints, decompressing the spine, releasing fascial restrictions, and restoring the flow of movement in the body. Jon’s approach blends traditional Thai techniques with a modern understanding of biomechanics and tension patterns. It's ideal for: Stiff necks and sore backs Limited mobility in hips or shoulders Postural issues or repetitive strain Recovery from activity or injury (non-acute) You’ll leave feeling re-aligned, lighter, and taller—not just relaxed. Whether you’ve tried chiropractic or physiotherapy before, or are simply looking for something that works—this might just surprise you.

  • Azorian Reset

There is only one thing better, pushing your body a little along one of Terceira's stunning volcanic trails in advance of receiving your therapeutic bodywork session. Sure, this might be more than you expected, but sometimes the island’s rhythm catches up with you, and you realise you need a pause. Azorean Reset is designed for just that. This session is ideal mid-stay or during quieter days, when your body needs care and your mind could use a little calm. If walking is not for you this time, clarity can still be sought through Ana and a reading through Vedic Astrology or Tarot. If difficult choices are ahead, this insight is powerful. The trail walking, and reading are just options, the bodywork is our specialty here, it's typically a combination of acupuncture, Thai yoga massage, Shiatsu along with other techniques. We blend the emotional and the physical in a professional, deeply respectful space. Jon’s Thai bodywork focuses on releasing tension stored in the body, often the kind you didn’t even realise you were holding. Ana’s acupuncture sessions aim to restore emotional clarity, relieve anxiety or stress, and leave you feeling mentally lighter and physically stronger. You don’t need to explain anything. Just show up, breathe, and let your system re-calibrate. This is a good choice if you’re feeling: Drained or overwhelmed, sleep-deprived or mentally scattered, physically fine, but emotionally “off” The pick up service is offered to the Angra area. Return to your holiday, or your life, with a clearer mind and a restored sense of self.

  • Combined Therapy Session

This integrated therapy session combines the precision of acupuncture with the deep, targeted release of Thai massage to address both the root cause and physical symptoms of tension, pain, or restricted movement. We begin with acupuncture, using fine needles placed at key points to stimulate circulation, calm the nervous system, and release energy blockages. This prepares your body for the physical work to follow — loosening the deeper patterns that keep muscles tight and joints restricted. Next, Thai massage techniques work through your muscles and connective tissues with rhythmic pressure, assisted stretches, and joint mobilisations. This not only relieves tightness but restores functional movement and improves posture. By blending these two therapies into one seamless hour, we work on multiple systems at once, nervous, muscular, and energetic, creating changes you can feel immediately. The result is reduced pain, increased mobility, and a sense of lightness that lasts beyond the session. Ideal for active locals, those in regular physiotherapy, or anyone seeking a more effective approach to recovery and maintenance, this combination offers maximum therapeutic value in a single visit.
